M2M COMMUNICATIONS HELPS PACIFICORP OPTIMIZE RESOURCES AND MINIMIZE ELECTRICITY COST

Boise, ID — August 14, 2007 — M2M Communications (www.M2MComm.com), a leading provider of web-to-wireless remote monitoring and communication devices, announces the deployment of a Demand Side Management System for industrial loads that allows PacifiCorp to more efficiently manage peak electrical loads. M2M Communications is a leading supplier of M2M monitoring and control systems and PacifiCorp is a regulated electric utility providing service in six western states.

Aeris Communications, of San Jose, CA, has been selected to provide CDMA airtime services as a key part of the solution that allows PacifiCorp to efficiently manage energy consumption during peak usage times. This initial project reduces the peak demand by about 45-megawatts. This is the equivalent energy requirement of approximately 8,000 homes.

“We specialize in industrial M2M applications, especially equipment monitoring and control,” said Steve Hodges, president of M2M Communications. “Demand Side Management (DSM) is the process of managing when and how energy is consumed. Our DSM system improves electric grid reliability and minimizes electricity costs when the electric grid is near its capacity. Aeris provides us with customized network services to broadcast reliably to tens of thousands of sites, allowing us to provide a complete solution to our customer, PacifiCorp.”

“With increased energy demands during the summer peak period, we needed a reliable solution that would allow us to remotely manage the energy load,” said Bill Marek, project manager for PacifiCorp. “Aeris and M2M Communications have partnered to provide a solution that meets PacifiCorp’s requirements. Particularly impressive is the ability to have full-circle communication with sites located in very rural or remote agricultural areas.”

"The positive effects of shifting load are far-reaching and we are pleased to be part of this innovative solution for PacifiCorp," said Mark Cratsenburg, senior vice president of sales for Aeris. "The Aeris machine-to-machine wireless network allows M2M Communications to provide turn-key services to their customers. We are honored to be part of their portfolio of service providers.”
