The list included 14 companies from Idaho, where M2M is ranked 5th overall and as the fastest growing manufacturing company in the state.

The award is based on revenue growth from 2005 to 2008. During this time, M2M:
- Extended their Irrigation Load Control contract with Rocky Mountain Power into Utah and expanded the program in Eastern Idaho.
- Continued their remote monitoring and control business with Valley Irrigation, including deployment of devices to 7 countries and 36 states.
- Completed their third year of deploying meter reading and control equipment in New York City with National Grid.
- Reached an agreement with Idaho Power to provide Irrigation Load Control services in Idaho and Eastern Oregon.
- Created a new product line based on digital cellular and satellite communications
